Why is lining and interlining necessary?
Several reasons. 1) High-end quality window treatments are always lined and interlined to prevent the colors of your fabric from being seen on the outside of your window. 2) The silk is complimented and made more luxurious and fuller when paired with a good quality, 100% cotton lining and interlining. 3) In addition, our opinion is that silk should never be used on windows without lining and interlining which aides in protection from the harmful UV rays that will destroy silk within weeks. When lined and interlined, damage is usually limited to only the edges of silk panels.
