Why is life a bowl of cherries?
Cherries also represent the dichotomy of both sourness and sweetness, depending on the choices made of when to harvest them and how to grow them. Just like in our lives, the decisions we make affect what kind of sweetness or sourness we’ll encounter. Strawberries and raspberries are always a bit tart….not the same range of flavor. And boy does life range in flavor sometimes! Not to mention that cherries are arguably more versatile for their many uses (eaten raw, on sundaes, in salads, in baked goods, etc.). Plus let’s look at the symbology of the cherry – a nice, round sphere. Not even the raspberry can match such neat roundness that represents the circle of life. And there you have it – a bowl of cherries is the most lifelike of any other fruit.
