Why is LAO moving to Post-Payment Examination?
Legal Aid Ontario is simplifying and streamlining the way we do business with lawyers who do legal aid work. Using our new technology system, you will be able to send accounts electronically using Legal Aid Online, without submitting full account details. Our new system has been programmed to detect many of the errors that were previously detected manually. The random Post-Payment Examination will perform the necessary number of examinations, to ensure that accounts paid are accurate and valid. In addition, we want to identify the types of errors that are made so that we can provide training and information materials to help you submit accounts quickly and accurately.
