WHY is Lake Country Power just passing this on, and making members bear the burden?
Lake Country Power is a cost-based electric utility and our charges to you are only for the costs of providing the electric service to your site. After expenses for furnishing your electricity are satisfied, the money left over (the margin) is set aside for all members who purchased electricity during the year as Capital Credits. Our goal is to keep the co-op in a solid financial position so that we can continue to provide safe, affordable and reliable power to our members, and still meet financial obligations and loan covenants set by our lenders.
