Why is LABIOFAM (Havana, Cuba) the only laboratory to produce certified ESCOZUL?
Escozul is a Cuban medicine. An anticarcinogenic medicine of natural origin that is obtained from an endemic scorpion found only in Cuba. The deceased Cuban Biologist, Misael Bordier patented the treatment in 1995 after he discovered its properties as an anti-tumoral agent. However, in Cuba any research is promoted and carried out only and exclusively by governmental institutions. The OCPI (Cuban Office of Industrial Property) gave Labiofam the rights to use the patent associated to the blue scorpion venom in 2004. Labiofam works in the research together with INOR (Oncology and Radiology Institute) and the IPK, and it is the only one in Cuba that produces the certified treatment.
