Why is Kumon such an effective complement to my childs schooling?
In school, material is taught according to grade, which corresponds to age, and classes advance as a group. Needless to say, not all children develop at the same pace, and not all children grasp all concepts at the same pace. Kumon allows each individual child to govern his or her own progress according to his or her needs and abilities. Many students, event the “A” students, have gaps in their learning. The Kumon program allows students to develop a high proficiency of thinking in math and a high level of comprehension in reading through speed and accuracy. Kumon students develop a strong ability to have patience with their work, to pay attention to details, and to persevere to stay on task.
