King High School Assistant Prinicpal Olayinka Alege’s method of punishment came to light last week.TAMPA – A Hillsborough County school board member said the King High School administrator who punished students by popping their toes might need to be fired. The president of the school’s parent-teacher association said the administrator, Assistant Principal Olayinka Alege, is an inspired leader who merely displayed a minor lapse in judgment. Although parents and school officials differ on the magnitude of the infraction, even Alege’s biggest backers conceded his toe-popping discipline is a little strange. Several people interviewed last week agreed they would be alarmed if their child said an administrator had them take off their shoes and socks and present their toes.
