Why is jesus nationality considered Jewish yet this is a religion?

Jewish may not be a nationality today, but it originally meant that somebody was a citizen of Judea. The Jewish national identity gradually evaporated following the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD, after which the Romans pursued a policy of settling Gentile communities in former Judea.

Jesus’ nationality was actually Hebrew, but he was considered “Jewish” because he recided in the Kingdom of Judea, different to the Kingdom of Samaria (who’s inhabitants were called Samaritans), when Israel was divided. He did profess the Jewish faith in his own way, adding his own doctrine to the mix.
