Why is it uncommon for noble gases to form chemical bonds?
their valence elctrons (outermost P and S orbitals) are full and the noble gass would end up havving to donate electrons to bond, somthing that becasue of the strong positive nuclius is not likely to happen and you can only put those 8 in the orbitals so you can’t add more… there are some exceptions as noble gasses can form bonds and more then 8 electrons can get into the valence orbitals, but this is presenting only the larger of the noble gases and other atoms and is caused by the shielding of the nuclear charge by the layers of core electrons.
