Why is it that the search operation in OfficeReady Template Browser is very slow?

A. If you have a version of Windows 95 with Internet Explorer 3.x or lower, the “find” operation is slower because it uses the Visual Basic Object Model to search for templates. This is the reason that even the accessing of properties of a document is slow. The OfficeReady Template Browser does not always load up with the List View and the Preview Pane on. The OfficeReady Template Browser is launched with the default start-up screen (i.e. with the List View and the Preview Pane on) the first time only. After the first launch, the Template Browser always saves its settings on exit. The next time the OfficeReady Template Browser is launched, it loads with previously saved settings.
