Why is it that students who are English speakers of other languages (ESOL) sometimes look dyslexic?

ESOL students process language very slowly and often look like they have a Learning disability, but their issues are second language learning. They are always translating or struggling to remember the right words. It doesn’t qualify as a disability under IDEA. Have you every learned a second language? Only time, a rich language environment, and good instruction will solve learning difficulties that result from learning English as a second language.
