Why is it that more 1969 Dodge Chargers got trashed than any other muscle car?
They suffered from poor build quality, they rusted terribly, and Bo and Luke Duke didn’t help the supply of these now-coveted muscle cars by crashing and burning about 300 of them. Even in 1979, when The Dukes of Hazzard began, these cars were already reaching collector car status. No matter how many survive-and it can’t be many-the 1969 Charger is arguably one of the most beautifully styled cars of the muscle car era, and its likes will never be seen again. With its hidden headlamps, recessed rear window and subtle trunk lid spoiler, the second-generation Charger was styled much like its predecessor, the 1968 model. The ’68 design featured a one-piece grille and four circular taillamps.
