Why is it so important to restore Costa Rica’s rainforests?
Tropical forests like those in Costa Rica absorb more carbon dioxide pollution than forests in temperate zones, so they play a very important role in slowing global warming. They also help fight climate change by producing clouds that reflect the sun’s heat back into space. At the same time, Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula is home to a stunning array of wildlife, so by protecting it we can help promote global biodiversity.
