Why is it so important for my organization to make connections to the Division’s strategic plan and key vision areas?
Strategic planning plays an important role for any organization, and the Division’s statewide cultural plan, Culture Builds Florida’s Future, helps unify the message of arts and culture in Florida. The Division asks that you demonstrate progress in connecting to strategic plan elements – three of the four elements in General Program Support grant applications, and one of the four elements in the Specific Cultural Project grant applications – to make clear some of the benefits of cultural programming. As is the case with any funding source, we want to be sure that organizations who receive grant funding from our agency share our mutual goals. As we all know, cultural organizations are economic drivers, promote learning and wellness, build leadership, and advance design and development in many ways. By asking you to identify your connections to these key vision areas, the Division has a way to determine how your organization is connecting to the goals of the strategic plan, and to share
