Why is it significant that Zicam is homeopathic?
All 19 Zicam products are marketed as homeopathic remedies. However, Zicam is different than most homeopathic remedies because it has an active ingredient (zinc). The Associated Press (AP) reported today that active homeopathic medicine ingredients are usually diluted down to one part per million or less. However, zinc, Zicam’s active ingredient, is two parts per 100. Homeopathic medications like Zicam are not federally tested for their safety or effectiveness.
