Why is it recommended that 150 seats be reserved for the high school boundary area at Virginia Shuman Young Elementary but not at Sunrise Middle?

The surrounding area for Virginia Shuman Young Elementary School is not the high school boundary. When the Virginia Shuman Young Elementary School Montessori was established, the surrounding community was allowed to have 150 reserved seats to guarantee their attendance if they chose to apply to the elementary school program. Proposed new school C Montessori is recommended to be a PreK-8 grade configuration which would include the surrounding middle schools, Attucks and Olsen Middle Schools. Both Attucks and Olsen Middle Schools make up the South Broward High School attendance area. Under option A recommendation, 150 reserved choice seats are proposed for the South Broward High School attendance area because this area serves both feeding middle schools, Attucks and Olsen Middle Schools to provide seats for both elementary and middle grades at new school C Montessori PreK-8.
