Why is it “politically correct” to say Happy Holidays when we still say Happy Easter not Bunny Day!?

I say Happy Holidays to anyone I don’t know since I don’t know what they celebrate and how. At Easter I only greet people with Happy Easter if I know they celebrate it (religiously or not). I also will greet people with Happy Ostara if I know they celebrate Ostara. I am never offended by hearing any greeting. Words are just words, it is the intent behind the words that are important. Last year I ticked off two ladies at Christmas, on seperate occasions. In both cases they said “Merry Christmas”. I had responded “Merry Christmas and have a Blessed Yule”. This is my standard greeting for anyone who initiates a greeting to me. But these ladies started calling me a satan worshipper and accused me of taking christ out of christmas. With all due respect, I am not capable of taking anything out of a holiday. Some people can’t be pleased, they look for insults.
