Why is it not possible to use the AF sensor supplementary rangeing points when set to local focus area mode?
With the local focus area mode, supplementary ranging points are not necessary, as the focus point is selected manually by choosing a focus area. Supplementary ranging points are only functional in Wide Focus setting, when the camera automatically chooses a focus area. For operational simplicity, the Local Focus Area is limited to 9 points.
