Why is it not advised to take ginger capsules during pregnancy?

I have never heard this! I am 36 weeks pregnant and took loads of ginger capsules and tablets earlier on in my pregnancy – I was advised to use them as a morning sickness remedy by my Doctor! I found the capsules worked much better than the root ginger or the crystallised ginger etc. Although I couldn’t really take them after the second trimester as they just gave me terrific heartburn. I can’t actually stand the smell of ginger anymore as I used so much of it in early pregnanct (and it didn’t help my nausea really!) I’d check with your doctor. Mine actually advised me to use them!!
