Why is it necessary to give photographic copyright and website credit?
In the case of the Milton H. Greene collection, his son Joshua owns the copyrights, yet the photographs were created by the artist. Legends Licensing LLC is the managing agent and organization that represents all of the collections available for licensing on this website. This is no different than Corbis or Getty images. So it is necessary for the credit to read “photo by Milton H. Greene © 2008 Joshua Greene www.legendslicensing.com.” We negotiate the full credit for any or all usages at the primarily stage of all negotiation. Furthermore, clients are made aware that failure to give full credit may result in tripling the negotiated usage fee.
