People need to know that native-born Tejanos were the first to have a vision of an independence Texas. They legitimized the 1836 revolt by Sam Houston as a Texas “Revolution”. 3. Filling in these missing Tejano pieces will complete the Texas history puzzle. 4. No one else is going to do it for us. 5. Future Tejano generations (our children’s children) need to know where they came from. 6. Texas history without Tejanos is like a story with no beginning.
