Why is it important to maintain a diverse workforce?
Metzler: A lot of organizations have been successful in what they have done but they have to understand that being successful today does not necessarily mean they are going to be successful tomorrow. The only way you are going to be successful tomorrow is through the people you hire, recruit and retain. If you look at the demographics of the United States what you find is that they have changed. Most organizations are in the business of selling or promoting something. In order to understand your customer you must have people in your organization who understand that customer. If you want to be able to have people who understand that customer you have to look at diversity because it really drives innovation.
