Why is it important to know the seven continents of the world?
It is important for all students to develop what we will here note as building geographic literacy. The importance lies to reinforce and apply that knowledge by constructing thematic maps which convey physical, economic, cultural, or political characteristics of places. Its learning about diversity and its location within various areas in an effort to gain an understanding of how the sum of parts become integral parts of the whole. In this way we can better strategize, and promote best practices to build a better and more harmonic global society.
