Why is it important to keep mouse, display and printer drivers current?
Here are a few reasons: 1. Bug Fixes. New device drivers fix problems and address compatibility issues. Some of the problems caused by driver bugs can be subtle. Often display problems and system divide by zero problems can be “fixed” simply by updating drivers. 2. Performance. New drivers can performance better and can provide changes that were too late to be boxed when the printer, mouse, monitor, cd-rom, or scanner shipped. 3. New features. Your current driver may not be taking full advantage of your hardware’s capabilities. 4. Cheaper than replacements. Keeping the investment up-to-date costs time.
