Why is it important to include the pages on my agencys website in Google’s index? Isn’t the search tool on my site enough?
Most people access government websites through search engines, often without knowing they’re looking for a particular government service. To make sure users don’t unknowingly bypass your site, it’s important to make all of its pages accessible to search engine crawlers (and thus to search engine users). The search tool on your site is of no value to a user who never discovers your site to begin with.
