Why is it important to have effective communication in emergency situations??
Communication can be the key in emergency situations. Proper communication will let dispatch know who you are, what the emergency is, your address and any situations that may be needed to get the proper help to you. Many people panic which makes it difficult for dispatch to not only understand what you’re saying but also difficult to get the proper help to you quickly. When the accident is not at home it always important to be as specific as possible to a location. Telling dispatch that you don’t know know where you are won’t help. Try landmarks, intersections, mile markers, street names, stores….anything that will get them to exactly where you are quickly!
