An all-metal MMC machines like a metal. MMC’s with ceramic reinforcement are much more difficult to machine. Some MMC’s use ceramic reinforcement that is ‘whisker’ shaped, lending directionality, or anisotropy, to their properties. AlBeMet has complete isotropy(same properties in all directions).
