Why is it important for sport exercise management students to study sport from a sociological perspective?
Sounds like you’re studying to a higher level than I did, but here goes. Sport Exercise Management can cover a lot of public sporting opportunities like sports clubs, school sports and elderly activities. Sociological and socioeconomic perspectives are important views to see through because your sociological situation can really affect the availability of sport to you. Someone from a lower socioeconomic background would possibly have less spare cash to spend on equipment like boots, racquets, cricket whites etc should they wish to start playing football, tennis, cricket or other things. Also, there’s the issue that an area with a lower socioeconomic level may have fewer facilities available to the residents. Sociologically, there could be the influences of upbringing and gender (are a little girl’s parents going to let her play football, rugby, cricket etc? or are they against her doing a historically male-oriented sport?), religion (availability of single-sex swimming sessions to allo
