Why is it faster to adopt a baby boy from South Korea?

I appreciate you taking the time to help me out. Unlike most domestic adoptions, with International adoptions, parents often can choose the sex of their child. When we began the South Korean adoption process, we learned we could bring a child home faster if we would consider a boy. We dont really care which sex our child is we just want a baby as soon as possible. When we explain this to people, and add that we can bring home a baby much faster if he is a boy, they often are surprised. I think this is because most people know that babies adopted from China are nearly always girls. To my knowledge, this is not an Asian thing it is a Chinese thing.
