Why is it faster to adopt a baby boy from South Korea?

When we began the South Korean adoption process, we learned we could bring a child home faster if we would consider a boy. We dont really care which sex our child is we just want a baby as soon as possible. When we explain this to people, and add that we can bring home a baby much faster if he is a boy, they often are surprised. I think this is because most people know that babies adopted from China are nearly always girls. To my knowledge, this is not an Asian thing it is a Chinese thing.
