Why is it called alcoholics anonymous?
Alcoholics Anonymous first off is not a club as was stated in one of the other answers.The members do not use thier last names when they stand to speek .Everyone just uses thier first name and thier last name remains anonymous.I was court ordered to attend such meetings because of a dwi arrest, and learned a lot about the orginization.It is a wonderful orginization for people who want help to quit drinking, but is not the place for someone who does not want to stop. It is for people who cannot control thier life because of the desease of alcoholism.Alcoholics Anonymous is a cult not a club.Not to be confused with an ocult.Alcoholics Anonymous only works for those who actually want to quit drinking and get a sponser and work Bills 12 step program.
