Why is IST needed?
Although many new pipeline integrity technologies and products are being developed to meet industry needs, most have a very high capital cost and the performance of the technology is highly dependent on the training and experience of the operator. IST, in collaboration with Longview Inspection and select technology providers, will create training classes designed to support Industry standards as they are developed. The curricula will not be theoretical, but will be specifically targeted to the individual responsible for quality data acquisition and trouble shooting.
