Why is Iowa so important in the presidential election?

0

It REALLY isn’t. It is just the first of the caucuses. Many times what happens here doesn’t matter. Bill Clinton only got 3% of the Democrats vote in in Iowa in 1992. But he went on to win the entire election didn’t he. There is a good chance the Obama will get the nod in Iowa, but Clinton has him the rest of the Blue states (except Illinois) So she will most likely get the presidential nomination. Anyway, it is the point where the lower ranked candidates start to dissappear.
