Why is Intrinergy involved?
In September 2008, BELCO issued a Solicitation of Interest asking project developers to submit proposals for building, owning, and operating new renewable electricity generators. These independent generators would sell electric power to BELCO under a 15 to 20 year contract, and BELCO in turn would deliver electricity to the retail customer over its transmission and distribution network. Intrinergy responded to this Solicitation, and was selected by BELCO as a candidate to present its solution to government officials and the residents of Bermuda.
