Why is Individual Player Development Important?
While our goal is to strengthen the team, Basketball 4 Kids recognizes that the team is built on a foundation of individual players who must perform as a team. Basketball 4 Kids provides skill development that consists of ball handling, passing, shooting, and rebounding. Beyond the fundamentals, we work to develop players who are efficient. We concentrate on the amount of shots made instead of the number taken – and we work to make sure players know how to get open so they can shoot effectively. Basketball 4 Kids has analyzed NBA teams during play-off games and the data has shown that on average over 80% of baskets scored are the result of either a catch and shoot, one dribble and shoot, or two dribbles and shoot.
