Why is ICDL being introduced in Philadelphia?
Increasingly, our economy is being transformed from a manufacturing base to a services base. It is important for Philadelphia to have a broad-based workforce that possesses certified computer skills to retain and attract business to the city and region. We compete on a broad basis, so we chose to implement a certification standard that is recognized worldwide as the standard for validating basic computer skills.
