More and more of ICA’s students could not enroll unless they received high levels of tuition assistance — something ICA has worked very hard to provide each year. But even with the offer of assistance, many other young women could not even consider applying to ICA due to financial constraints. As ICA endeavored to raise greater levels of tuition assistance for our students and found ourselves still turning away worthy students who simply couldn’t afford to attend, it became clear something needed to be done to change this situation. So, a year-long feasibility study was begun to determine if converting to become a Cristo Rey school were advisable. The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose, sponsors of ICA for 125 years, completed the study and made the decision to apply to become a Cristo Rey school.
