Why is HTML, PHP etc. used rather than software that allows you to create a website visually?
Well, to give you a very simple, straight forward answer, that’s just how it works. It’s how web pages are constructed. You can use programs such as Photoshop to design your graphics and layout, but you need HTML, Javascript, PHP, and the like to make it all function. If you made it completely visually, it would no longer be a website. It would only be an image. Like a digital poster. The only way to make things functional is to use programming languages. You have to have some way to tell the browser “This is what it’s supposed to do when the user does this.” If not, there’s no way for the browser or your computer to understand what it’s supposed to do.
