The hawaiisenergyfuture.com website and television, radio and print advertising is a way we can do our part to educate the community and inspire people to make changes in thought and behavior that will bring us closer to the goal of a clean energy future for Hawaii. In addition, Hawaiian Electric, Maui Electric and Hawaii Electric Light companies’ participate in numerous community events to take this message to the public, including sponsoring events such as the “Grow Hawaiian Festival” and our own signature “Live Energy Lite” event on Oahu. As a state, Hawaii has committed to a very aggressive goal of 70 percent clean energy for ground transportation and the generation of electricity by 2030. Hawaiian Electric strongly supports those goals, having signed an energy agreement with the state administration as part of the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative.
