Why is Hatch Hall closing in December?

0

The Hatch Hall renovation is part of an extensive a 15-year Residential Life Master Plan (RLMP). The RLMP includes the construction of new and renovation of existing residence halls at MU. Implementation and completion of projects on schedule is a necessity in order to offer housing for the freshman class and returning students. In the Fall of 2006, four new residence halls will be available for students three buildings in the Southwest Campus Housing project and one building in the College Avenue Housing project. Then, a year later, Hatch Hall will need to be available for occupancy. In order to have enough time for renovation before the fall 2007 deadline, Hatch must be closed for approximately 18 months, which means that it must close down in December of 2005.
