Why is Green Screen® not #1 on the EWG website?

We wonder this too, as we’re the only sunscreen manufacturer that uses completely edible grade organic and natural ingredients and the highest concentration of non-nanoparticle Zinc Oxide on the market. EWG uses rating practices that are not based on science. EWG states that 4 out of 5 sunscreens fail to perform to the manufacturer’s claims yet rewards companies in their evaluation for inflating SPF claims. Green Screen doesn’t receive a higher rating because we market our sunscreens at a conservative SPF of 20, instead of 30. This difference penalizes us with the UVB hazard score, even though the difference between SPF 20 and 30 is only a 1.6% increase in protection. EWG gives us the best broad spectrum protection rating since we use 25% zinc oxide, but apparently this doesn’t count toward the numerical rating.
