Why is Florida Together Federation a federation of local groups, and not a federation of local, state and national groups?
While local organizations have some needs and goals that are similar to those of state and national groups, local organizations also have many needs and goals that are different by virtue of being focused on one locality, having limited resources, etc. In the same way that the state organizations have a federation of only statewide organizations (called Equality Federation), which includes the statewide LGBT groups such as Equality Florida, Equality Arizona, Equality California, etc., there is a similar need for a federation of local organizations in Florida.
