Why is Florida a closed Primary Election state?

Because they are doing it the right way. My state doesnt even have party registration and guess what? Tons of people cross over and vote for the weakest candidate on the other side if they like both of theirs or it looks like the one they want will win easily. This is not what was intended. Primaries are for EACH PARTY to decide which candidate they want to represent them in the general election. Other parties can get recognized if they meet a vote threshold in an election so it isnt like they are being held out. People really have no idea how the system is supposed to work which tells me that my fellow social studies teachers are NOT doing their jobs very well.
