Why is First Class Mail effective?
By simply taking the time to write a letter you’re showing sincerity and thoughtfulness. Also, traditional correspondence is more easily handled, and is generally thought to be more effective than electronic mail in many governmental offices. When you draft your thoughts in an e-mail, it’s too easy for a recipient (at the government level this is often a gatekeeper – not your intended recipient) to simply delete your correspondence without a second look. However, a person must take physical action to remove a letter. As a result, it gets move attention and is more likely to be read.
