Why is finding parking near the Library so difficult?
Unfortunately, the Library does not have a dedicated parking lot, but must share the metered parking in the City lot to the south of the building and on nearby streets. Thus, there is no free parking for Library patrons and in the summer, when the Lawrence Aquatic Center is in operation, parking is very limited. This severe lack of parking is one reason the Library is planning for a major renovation in downtown Lawrence.
