Why is Film Streams a nonprofit?
Unlike commercial theaters, Film Streams is a mission-based organization committed to showing films based entirely on their creative, artistic, and social merits. In order to make programming decisions that are independent of box office concerns, we depend on the support of our membership program, individual donors, and grants from foundations, corporations, and government organizations to supplement the revenue earned through ticket sales, concessions, and facility rentals.
