Why is FHM asking for just $5 per person?
Just a few hours away from the US mainland, people are living in unimaginable conditions. No matter how bad the US economy gets, Americans are always able to do something to help. We are remembering the Haitian proverb, “men anpil, shay palou” – many hands lighten the load. As they say in Kreyol, the native tongue of Haiti, it is time for us to ‘degajé’. Degajé (day-gah-djay) means to do what we can, with what we have, where we are… By asking for $5 per person, we can all join our hands with our Haitian neighbors, to help them help themselves, by raising the funds for a health care system that can transform their lives. Of course, FHM is grateful for any size donation.
