Young-Earth creationism isn’t really an aspect of religion, it is a business run by fake scientists and pseudo-theologians for their own profit and (tin foil hat time) by some very peculiar political types for political influence. Sure, there are some crazies involved and a lot of true believers, many of whom could hardly think their way out of a wet paper bag, you see them here all the time. But to the prominent ones it’s business or politics. The business side of it works something like this. A true believer becomes a Bible student. He may have some formal qualifications, perhaps he’s an engineer or accountant. After a suitable period of study and maybe attendance at one of the creationist Bible colleges, he qualifies as a pastor. The standards are usually fairly low and in some cases, non-existent. He then sets out to start a church of his own. It is usually in some provincial town or the outer suburbs of some larger city, generally working class or lower middle class regions where
