Why is euthanizing a beloved pet a moral action but controversial when applied to people?

You will receive Bible quotes again and again. I have often pondered the same question, when putting down a beloved pet to save them from horrendous pain. I now believe that with the consent of the person who is in pain, they should get the same loving assistance as to our pets. I personally, do not want to lie in pain for weeks, months or even years, if I can be put out of the pain. I know that this action would be done from love, not from fear or retribution. WOW – some answers churn my stomach. I believe animals definitely have souls and I also believe that they are no less than we are. For those who do not have an understanding of how much unconditional love a pet gives a human, I really feel for them. They do not yet know what Jesus tried to teach us. He himself, tried to set the doves free from their cages in the market place and the Bible, I believe, states humans have dominion over animals, which means TO TAKE CARE OF.
