Why is Ethiopia a good example to other African countries in fighting corruption?
The structure of our organization seems to be quite exceptional. For instance, in most countries the tasks of promoting ethics and tackling corruption are given to different institutions. These closely related tasks are not given to a single institution, as is the case in Ethiopia. Why should such tasks be carried out by entirely different institutions when there are so many interrelationships between them? It is our strong conviction that they should be undertaken by a single institution as there is a logical connection between them. This is the approach that we have taken in Ethiopia since the launch of the civil service reform which embeds the promotion of ethics and anti-corruption within itself.
