Why is ensuring environmental sustainability so important?
We, human-kind, are dependent on the environment to survive. Were it to drastically change it could mean the end for us. Remember though, we live in an universe of change, its an eventuality. You can not avoid it. Ideally, we would be able to survive to the point where we can create our own sustainable environments so we are not as dependent on this one. However, any serious attempt at a non-Earth dependent sustainable habitat is a long ways off.
